With a number of years of continuous investment
Loon Mountain has established a reputation for some of the best prepared and
most snow sure piste in New Hampshire. The excellent reputation of the ski
school ensures a ski week that is guaranteed to get results. The fun doesn't
stop after skiing with a range of high-tech snow toys available for those
energetic enough to need more action when the lifts close.
The Skiing
As with Bretton Woods, beginners and intermediates
are well catered for at Loon Mountain. Starting on the Little Sister Chair or
Sarsaparilla drag beginners will soon find their ski legs and head up the
mountain to take on the wide gentle slopes of the Upper & Lower Bear Claw
runs. Loon Mountain gives everyone that 'ski the whole mountain' feeling. The
intermediate skiers will be cruising all over the hill on confidence building
blue and red runs like the Speakeasy and Flying Fox. More advance skiers can
enjoy the challenging glade skiing on North Peak on the Bucksaw and Missing
Link runs or stick to the piste and try out the black diamond runs of Walking
Boss or Angel Street. Whatever your ability Loon Mountain will keep you amused
all week.
Après Ski
Sleigh rides, tax-free "factory outlet" shopping
at North Conway, novel steam locomotive shuttle at Loon, cinema, night skiing
(4pm to 10pm), big choice of bars and restaurants with live entertainment. Many
of the "pubs" brew their own local beer, swimming, tubing and
skating, ten pin bowling. Please note that some transport may be required for
some of the activities. Extreme tubing, steerable snowtubes, snow decks, snow bikes etc. are available at Loon
Mountain.
