SKI ITALY - Val di Fiemme

The Region
North East Trentino hides one of the best ski resorts in the Italian Dolomites, the Val di Fiemme. Nestling between the Fassa Valley to the East and the Cembra Valley to the southwest, which the picturesque Lagorai, Pale of San Martino and the Latemar Dolomites mountain ranges encircle, and help to produce one of the most snow sure ski areas of Italy.

The numerous small towns and villages that make up the Val di Fiemme offer a traditional Italian mountain welcome to our groups.

The Skiing
One ski pass covering a variety of landscapes offering over 160km of some of the best skiing in the Italian Dolomites. Each of the ski areas in the Val di Fiemme offers a very different skiing experience, but they all share the same high quality lift system and pride in piste preparation. The majority of the slopes are over 1700m and this is, combined with snow making facilities, ensures great skiing throughout the season from December to mid-April. One of the greatest features of the valley is a lift system consisting mainly of chairlifts and gondolas. This means that even first time skiers will get full use of the ski areas.

Ski Centre Latemar: Most groups begin their week at Ski Centre Latemar - the biggest area of the valley. The wide blue and red motorway style pistes wind across five valleys of open and tree lined piste. Such is the effect of this area that our returning clients have begun to give the slopes their own names, so if you want to ski "Stairway to Heaven" or take in the view from "Grappa Mountain" just ask! Depending on your hotel you will access the skiing from either Pampeago or Predazzo.

Alpe Lusia: As the biggest area is usually the busiest, those seeking a more relaxed pace should try the Alpe Lusia area. Beginners and intermediate skiers will love the long winding slopes of Bellamonte. Bellamonte offers one of the best "home runs" in the valley on the 5.5km slide from the top of the Campo Laste chair.

Alpe Cermis: For more experienced groups the slopes of the Alpe Cermis near the main town of Cavalese offers good choice of red and black runs, including a World Cup downhill called "Olympia".

Passo Rolle: A small resort at the head of the valley but at the top of the scenery stakes. With the base at almost 2000m the views of the Dolomite Mountains are unbelievable.

Ski School: The ski schools in the resort have been working with our groups for over 13 years and offer, according to our clients, some of the best ski instruction in Europe. Groups opting for 5 hours ski school per day can move freely between the different ski areas in the valley. For groups on less than 5 hours of ski school it is normally possible to move around the resort, but on certain peak dates this may not be possible. Please discuss your requirements in advance with our sales team.

Accommodation:
As our clients put it "Simply the best school group accommodation in Europe".
