The Region
Olympic Ski World, Axamer Lizum is only 15km from the historic university city of Innsbruck. Twice host to the winter Olympics the area offers a combination of slopes for all abilities and an apres ski programme that can rival anything offered by bigger resorts. Where else do you have the opportunity to ski from the hotel door, follow the tracks of the great Olympic downhill skiers, and ride a 4 man bobsleigh. The continued development of the system around the Muttereralm ads yet more beginner and intermediate mileage to the ski area. For those who wish to venture further, the Stubai glacier offers some of the best glacier skiing in Europe, this is available at a supplement. Regardless of your ability or skiing requirements Axamer Lizum will provide your group with an unforgettable and enjoyable winter holiday experience.
The Skiing
The Olympic ski area offers a wonderful range and variety of slopes. For beginners the nursery slopes around the hotel offer a confidence building start to the day. From here they will quickly progress to the gentle slopes around the Kaiserworld Draglifts. The more progressive skiers will warm up on the expansive blue and red runs of the Schonboden and Pleisenbahn, before taking the more challenging runs on the Hoadl summit. Advanced skiers will be keen to test their skills on the Olympic downhill run and try the fabulous 7km descent to the village of Axams. Thereafter they can make a quick return on the free ski bus and head up to tackle their powder and moguls skills on the slopes of the Birgitzkopfl Mountain. To finish the day the relaxing 8km run from the Birgitzkopfl summit to Gotzens is almost compulsory (don't worry you can rest on the free ski bus back up to Axamer Lizum or have your own coach meet you in the town).

Apres Ski
As you would expect with an Olympic resort the apres ski facilities are extensive. For example, you can choose from natural toboggan trails, the Olympic 4-man bobsleigh run, ten pin bowling, swimming, ice-skating and horse drawn sleigh rides. In addition to these, there is a range of shopping opportunities, cafes, bars, discos etc. For 'cultures vultures' a trip to Innsbruck is a must and no visit would be complete without a visit to the medieval old town to see the famous golden roof of the City of Tower, St Jcaobs Catherdral or the Imperial Palace. With so much to see and do it's a wonder that you have any time for skiing
