Amade - The Region and The Skiing
You will be amazed at the huge interconnected area that is available here. With 350km of piste to explore in the Sportwelt Amade alone, where do you start.
Starting at the Alpendorf Gondola and heading up to the Hirschkogel top station, the area unfolds at your feet. From the top station the beginners can gain confidence in the wide open runs between the Hirschkogel and Sonntagskogel peaks. Improving skiers will enjoy the challenging which sweep back through the trees towards the town of Alpendorf. Once the students have acquired 'ski legs', skiing further afield is not a problem, the efficient lift and ski bus system will carry them across the bulk of the ski area to experience some of the best skiing in Austria. The Flying Mozart Gondola from Wagrain opens up a wealth of beautiful runs down towards the village of Flachau, home of the legendary Olympic champion Herman "The Herminator" Maier - which in it self is a testament to this wonderful ski area.
Those seeking a little more excitement should visit the Flachauwinkle and Zauchensee slopes, high above the tree line. Here you will find the 'World Cup' piste, used each year in the ski racing calendar, that heads down from 2150m to the village. It is possible to ski around the area on blue runs and trails, so beginners will not be confined to on small area.
Schladming, Sportwelt Amade and Bad Gastein are now all on one pass, giving a whopping total area size of 860km, and we now include the whole Sportwelt Amade pass in our package.
